Here's a kickass thrash metal song from Megadeth's debut album. The album cover shown is from the 2002 CD reissue, the original 1985 album had a different image. The name of the song is also the name of Megadeth's skull-headed, shades-wearing mascot you see on the cover. His name is Rattlehead.
The album was recorded shortly after Dave Mustaine was fired from Metallica for drug use and violent behavior, and to say he was bitter about it is the understatement of the century. He said he wanted his songs to be faster and harder than Metallica's to teach them a lesson, and to prove them wrong for firing him. He succeeded in making a lot of his songs faster, and the album was a big success, but Mustaine would still remain #2 behind Metallica's success for pretty much his entire career.
