I've been awaiting the day I get to use the term "like-like someone." It's so hilarious when used ironically that it practically becomes hilarious in earnest.
So if you guys don't already listen to Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, it probably means you're estranged from most of the new pop and country music being featured on American TV these days (which is definitely true for plenty of you guys). But today I'll give you all several reasons why you should definitely start loving them. Reason #1, reason #2, and reason #3. Not all of their songs are rock n roll; many of them are ballads, blues, and pop, but the one consistency between them all is the amount of soul that Grace Potter brings to them all. The woman's voice is amazing, and although she doesn't HAVE the blues herself, she does one hell of a job singing them, sounding very reminiscent of such legends as Janis Joplin. Fans of blues, folk, and soulful pop songs will be sure to love this band, so check them out if you haven't already. Thanks go out to Sam from California for bringing the band up to me a long time ago. Thanks Sam!
