Back in 1967, rock screams hadn't really become a big thing yet, despite many blues and early rock artists using them. In '66 and '67, bands like Cream, The Doors, and The Who helped to make the occasional rock scream more popular; and then a year later, Led Zeppelin and Robert Plant would solidify it as an integral part of the genre. But at the time, hearing singing like this on the radio made JIm Morrison seem like the wildest, craziest dude on the planet.
