Song of the Day

Lay Down Sally
Eric Clapton
Slowhand (1977)

It's been too long since I've played a little Eric Clapton on here.  Lay Down Sally is a great, mellow, country-blues song and is one of Eric Clapton's biggest hits.  Clapton said that this song was written as an attempt tp imitate the style of J.J. Cale, another blues guitarist who was one of Clapton's favorites.  The song was released as a single in 1977, with the famous song "Cocaine" (originally by J. J. Cale) appearing on the B-side.
