Song of the Day

All Down The Line
The Rolling Stones
Exile On Main St. (1972)

Here's a song from the Rolling Stones' most acclaimed album, Exile On Main St.  Often called one of the greatest albums of all time by people who only like old, bluesy music, Exile was without a doubt their best album up to that point.  The olling Stones had tried for a whole decade to sound like an old rhythm and blues band, and although they were popular, they largely failed at that task.  The reason why this album is so good is because the band finally stopped trying to play like blues and gospel musicians themselves, and instead got a bunch of ACTUAL blues and gospel musicians to play with them.  The result is a great album, one where they actually accomplish the sound they had always striven for.
