Comfortably Numb
Pink Floyd
The Wall (1979)

One of my favorite tracks from Pink Floyd's "The Wall", a double-album that is one of their most commercially successful releases.  The Wall is a rock-opera, telling the story of the character "Pink", a man from a difficult background, who builds an emotional wall around him, separating him from the world.  The character of Pink is based off of singer/bassist Roger Waters' own personal experiences, who wrote the majority of the album.  Waters was the main creative force behind all of Pink Floyd's most successful albums, but the tensions between him and his band members became too much, and he quit the band a few years after The Wall came out.
