Speaking of Blues Legends like Rory Gallagher, how about a little traditional blues for everyone by Eric Clapton? This album is a collection of Robert Johnson covers, since Clapton at the time of recording had no new material written. So to keep himself occupied he decided to record some covers of Johnson's songs, "and eventually he just had a whole album done!" Johnson was one of the earliest innovators of country blues in the 1930's, among others, and was a huge influence on Eric Clapton's guitar playing. Clapton's famous song "Crossroads" was actually a reworked arrangement of Johnson's own "Crossroad Blues."
