Song of the Day

July 9, 2011
Eric Clapton
Slowhand (1977)

We're topping off this week with one of Eric Clapton's most famous and best songs.  This is a cover of a J. J. Cale song, one of those covers that became more famous than the original.  It's meaning has often been disputed, but Eric Clapton has said that it is actually an "anti-cocaine" song, if you pay close attention to the lyrics.  He has even added the words "That dirty cocaine" in concert sometimes.  I guess this song follows my trend of ending the week with a bluesy song.
