Song of the Day

Sucker Train Blues
Velvet Revolver
Contraband (2004)

Velvet Revolver's always been a good band, but it's just been pretty standard, non-exceptional hard rock.  Always really good, but nothing completely original.  Nothing that has lived up to Slash's reputation as rock god, at least.  Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, VR's singer, was fired several years ago, after which Slash decided to pursue a solo career.  All the other members of the band have things going for them, as well, so none of them have been trying too hard to find a new singer for VR anytime soon.  (They say they've been lookng really hard, but nah, you can tell they don't care about it too much.)  I am completely fine with the way things are going now, because Slash's solo work has thus far been VASTLY better than Velvet Revolver's.
