Song of the Day

Nightwish
Dark Passion Play (2007)

This is probably one of my favorite Nightwish songs, especially because of how awesome the chorus is.  You can hear in this song several of the things mentioned in today's comic, namely the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Metro Voices Choir, who were both hired to work on the album.  Due to the huge production scale of the music, the album ended up costing Nightwish over half a million Euros to make, as have all of their most recent albums.  But Nightwish has earned well more than that back with how successful those albums have been.  This album was also the first one to feature vocalist Anette Olzen, who replaced Nightwish's previous singer, Tarja Turunen.  I love Anette's voice, and Nightwish's most recent albums with her have been some of my favorites so far.
