Well what can I say about this song other than it's one of the most famous and beautiful compositions in all of guitar history. Countless people have covered this song, and it is seen as a standard for determining a guitarist's skills; in other words, many guitarists choose to show off their skills by performing Little Wing live, and if they play it well, it's determined that they are a good guitarist. And this is a very good song for that test, because the song requires much more than just playing the notes right. It is one of those songs that requires feelings to play; for emotions and soul to come through your playing, otherwise you're not doing the song justice. And that's what separates good players from good artists. That was some hawty-tawty artistic bullcrap I spouted off just now, but I really believe it when it comes to this song.
When asked about the song's meaning, Jimi gave a long rambling explanation, and I honestly couldn't tell what the hell he was talking about. But the one thing that did come through in his explanation was when he said "It's a very simple song. It's one of the very few ones I like."
