The Black Keys' third album, Rubber Factory, was recorded in an old abandoned rubber tire factory. The band said that the factory was not a good place to record at, since it was out of the way, hot, and had terrible acoustics, but the resulting album was very positively received. Plus, they were able to rent the whole place for just $500 a month, which would be good by most APARTMENT standards these days.
