Cut Me Some Slack
Nirvana & Paul McCartney
Cut Me Some Slack [Single] (2012)

Here's the studio version of the song that Nirvana played with Paul McCartney at the 12-12-12 concert.  The song was written for Dave Grohl's upcoming documentary Sound City, and it's the first time the surviving members of Nirvana have recorded anything together since Kurt Cobain's death.  As you can probably hear, it doesn't sound like the same kind of grungey, alternative rock that Nirvana was known for, which has caused a lot of fans to be upset.  Most of them don't dislike the song, but they dislike the fact that it doesn't sound like old Nirvana.  I'm alright with that, because I really liked this song, and because I never expected it to sound the same anyway.  Kurt Cobain was Nirvana's main musical writer when he was alive, so without him, it's obviously going to sound different.  And since it still sounds awesome, I am totally fine with "different."

Song available on iTunes and Amazon.
