377: A Concert Tale: The Stooges, Part VII

And that was the last I ever saw of Carlos.

This comic is entirely true, and it was the greatest concert moment I've ever had.  As people were being squeezed together all around me, I was lifted up and carried out over the whole crowd, to the sound of cheers and applause from all the people who were thankful for just a little extra room.  And yes, I really did yell that before leaving.  Sure, lots of people crowdsurf at concerts.  But not many people get to be treated like a hero for it.

Man, I can't tell you how many hours I spent physically planning, drawing, and coloring this one strip, but luckily in the end it all felt totally necessary.  I knew for the strip to really work, you'd have to see all the individual people in the crowd, and I knew there'd be no way for me to half-ass that without LITERALLY DRAWING EVERY PERSON IN THE CROWD.  There's something like 300 people in this one comic, I don't even know the exact number.  And even if they're too small to see, I knew it had to be done.  That being said, I will be very glad if I never have to do this kind of shit ever again.
